Off to a quirky start

Okay, I did make a list of my ten favorite Christmas movies last year (wait…no, it was 2020! WHAT?), but I’m starting off with a different bunch in 2023. I will, however, leave a link to my former list below, just in case you are mildly curious, or need a little inspiration.

So far, I’ve watched:

A Castle for Christmas on Netflix (with Brooke Shields and Cary Elwes) about a half dozen times–this year alone. I love the both of them as actors and it is such a fun, romantic Christmastime movie with an enchanting cast of secondary characters and set in, yes, Scotland. What more can you ask for?

I watched a movie called The Mistletoe Inn for the first time last night. It involves writers, a whole bunch of them, so was right up my alley, and cute to boot. I rewatched The Santa Clause (which I suspect I might find on my favorites list, if I went back and looked), and also started the Disney+ series, The Santa Clauses. I didn’t expect to like it, but I LOVE it. It’s adorable and witty and somewhat grown up for being about a certain person, lol.

I also rewatched Holiday in the Wild on Netflix (with Rob Lowe–sorry, let me wipe the drool from my lip). On a particularly sleepless night, I tuned back into Netflix to watch The Christmas Chronicles again (the first one–didn’t care for the second). Kurt Russell plays Santa and, sorry, more drool.

I have my old standbys, my absolute favorites, on DVD and stacked up on the table in front of the television, ready to roll. However, since it’s not even Thanksgiving yet, I figure I’ll give myself time to rewatch others and search for some new ones before I get into those heavy hitters.

How about you all? Watching any seasonal fare yet?

Here is the link to my past blog about my ten favorite holiday movies.

If you celebrate, have a happy Thanksgiving! And start off your Christmas merrying early!
