about me

“Owl hasn’t exactly got Brain, but he Knows Things”

A. A. Milne – Winnie-the-Pooh (1926)

Humbly (with a rumbly tumbly), I admit I am a writer, published both traditionally and through self-publishing. I have always revered the written word. I recognize it’s power to move, to provoke emotion, to entertain. I started reading before I began school and had written my first book by age seven, about a girl and her horse. No surprise there. Not such an amazing feat, I suppose, as it was only 36 half-size pages on notebook paper, although it did have pencil and crayon illustrations. I folded it up and stapled it so it would resemble a real, live book (or so I convinced myself) and knew right then and there I wanted to be an author.

On this site, you will find information about the books I have written by utilizing the menu above, and also in my blogs, which contain excerpts, news, bits about the writing experience itself, as well as the craft.

I am always impressed by writers, songwriters and others who shape words for the world to enjoy. Therefore, I have interviewed some of these wonderful people. You can find the interviews on my blog.

My blog also contains a spewing of my thoughts like silly string from a can. I share adventures and misadventures, occasional whimsy and  occasional knowledge (like Owl, I do Know Things), photos to illustrate my verbal spates, or sometimes on their own. I do tend to go on about my garden, too, in all it’s, ahem, glory.

Last, but not least, on a really personal note, I LOVE Christmas, and blog about projects, offer seasonal photos, and other, er, stuff (lol).

Thanks for stopping by!

It is our choices, Harry, that show what we truly are, far more than our abilities.
