Two Biddies Talk Books

Good morning, campers! Remember my post about starting a Substack account so I could consolidate my social media efforts? Yeah, well, I started it and already deleted it. Don’t get me wrong. Substack is a wonderful place to find yourself and be in touch with other like-minded individuals. I realized, though, that instead of dropping my presence elsewhere, I was still trying to maintain them all. I’m not that good at the social thing. I gave up. Not an oh woe is me type of giving up, but merely a recognition that I was flipping nuts for adding something else to my agenda.

Ahem. Despite the above statement, I did start something new. Something I’ve been wanting to do for far longer than I’ve been yearning for a good presence on social media. I’ve wanted to do a podcast about books—writing them mostly, but also about reading them.

Not a podcast for beginning writers. Just check out YouTube for the many videos on that subject. No one needs my input. This would be a podcast about the writer’s life. More specifically, the well-seasoned writer’s life. Those of us who’ve been at it for a while and have reached an age where well, we’re not kids anymore. Not newbies. Not needing to learn about chapter length, or finding one’s voice, or the structure of a sentence. Nope, it’s about meeting the demands of health, time, and technical changes. About finding inspiration through older eyes. The comfort needs when crunched over a computer. The good old days. The fascinating new ones. And so very much more, all with humor and honesty. Unscripted.

Also, the books we read. Can’t forget that. Tastes change. The way we read changes. Tolerance changes. How long we can stay awake with a book at night has certainly changed!

Anyway, I figured I couldn’t do it alone. Who wants to hear only me speaking? I asked my friend Vikki (another seasoned writer) if she’d like to join me in this venture. She was all for it. After all, banter between two people is far more entertaining than one, lone, talking head, right? To make it even more interesting, we will at times be adding a third head to the mix, interviewing authors and other publishing professionals. More viewpoints, more opinions, more fun.

So, if this seems interesting to you, why don’t you come along with us on our journey? You can find us at https://youtube.com/@TwoBiddiesTalkBooks

Take a chance. Check it out. I think you’ll enjoy what we have to say.
